You talk about creators offering lazy work and getting paid $40 for a card. This is because they make niche content that no one else does. And there's a very small number of people ready to pay that.
Look at Makisu if you want to see a successful model that also earns your respect from other customers. $5 a month for everything, and it's free after 1 month. Because most of your sales to gooners happen within the next few days after that stuff hits your Patreon/Fanbox. You need to make your content as easy to get as possible, and at a price point where people won't give it a second thought hitting that 'buy' button. $5 a month is what Netflix used to be, Amazon Prime too, and at that price point people wouldn't even notice it on their CC bills. People started cancelling when it increased.
If you make it harder to get your content you will lose existing customers more than you will gain new ones. If you want to keep your model as is, I regret to say you have no options to increase your customers other than "make better scenes that more people want"
The average person browsing for Koikatsu content on Pixiv immediately turns around and goes looking at something else when they see a creator's content is 100% paywalled. No one is spending 20-30-40 bucks without getting a preview and an idea of what the content is like.

But I think WammonTusk realized he fucked up, because he removed that card from his Gumroad, Patreon, Fanbox and Pixiv. So to me, this guy still better than others like WeGoing2Hell, who shamelessly sell hair and outfits created by other authors.

These people think that a leakers are willing to give them money, like "they are actually customers but somehow got my content from a leak". With this weird thing these big corpos has, they think about potential income, lost revenue, a lost customer; "I do $20 scenes, if 100 people acquire it from a leak then is $2000 ($20 * 100 leakers) lost" no dude. There's no lost in the first place, because that "customer" is on a leaker site not on your patreon.
I'm not going to pay for a Paramore album to listen to it; I've never done that, I can just listen them on youtube, bandcamp, soundcloud and many more sites.
Imagine if Paramore had dedicated themselves to sending DMCA takedown notices to everyone and issuing strikes against all the channels that played their music. The last thing I'd expect to see is an increase in sales because of the backlash that would generate. What would end up being a ruin both Paramore and those who pay for their albums and concerts. I see more interactions on posts with one of those tags and free content than in the other two scenarios. There are special cases when the Ugoira tag is used and from a well-known creator (an example Tachumi; in the most recent Rias post, got 669 bookmarks, 1,117 likes, and 9,125 views). Can't give examples for Sandkoi because acc ban, maybe sharing patreon links?

Maybe I'll do it someday so I don't have to pull things out of my ass asking you to believe me, so trust me bro so to speak, but my point is, the way he's doing paid content is shooting himself in the foot. Even on his Patreon, the content for paying users only gets between 0 and 3 total interactions (likes, comments), and the public posts get between 0 and 20 total interactions. People want to see, like on Tachumi, paid SD content, and his content explodes in visibility, but of course, our other friend barely has 1k followers (on Twitter) but gets interactions as if he had 300. Damn, I had those numbers years ago when I only had like 62 followers.
No hate on that fella, don't go savage on him, just ignore and move on.
